Dye redissolution after precipitation with a water-miscible ionic liquid

摘要
Redissolution of five popular cationic dyes with a water-miscible ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate after their near quantitative precipitation from aqueous solutions is observed. The behavior of the ionic liquid is similar to that of a salt at lower concentrations, while it acts like a cosolvent at higher concentrations.
