摘要
An important part of automobile safety is the braking system. The ventilated disc brake used in the automobile is divided into two parts: a rotating axisymmetrical disc with vanes, and the stationary pads. The frictional heat generated on the interface of the disc and pads can cause high temperature during the braking process. Thermal stresses due to high temperature may induce surface cracks. The object of present work is determination of temperature distribution, thermal stress, comparison of simulation results and experimental results in the disc by partial 3D model of ventilated disc brake with appropriate boundary conditions. The influence of initial velocity and deceleration on thermal stress was investigated.
