Erosion of MgO-partially-stabilized zirconia at elevated temperatures

摘要
Erosion tests of MgO-partially-stabilized zirconia were conducted at 25, 300, 500, 700 and 900°C. Air was used for accelerating the particles. After completion of the test, the specimen was furnace cooled to room temperature and then cleaned in ethanol in ultrasonic bath. Erosion rate was calculated by dividing the specimen loss by the total mass of erodent particles impacted. It was found that the erosion rate tends to decrease up to 700°C and then increases with temperature, and the value of velocity exponent at 900°C is smaller than at room temperature.
