摘要
The spatial distribution of the Poynting vector vertical component has been constructed for different geomagnetic conditions on the basis of electromagnetic data of the Dynamics Explorer 2 satellite. It has been established that a single maximum is observed in the cusp region under quiet conditions. Two additional maximums appear in the dawn and dusk sectors of the auroral zone at moderate activity. Only two auroral maximums are observed at high activity. The approximation formula Q = 30.4E + 8.70pV/450 + 11.8 has been obtained for the total energy flux into the ionosphere. In this formula, Q is measured in GW; E, in mW/m; p, in nPa; and V, in km/s. The main regularities in the Poynting vector behavior under these conditions have been investigated. It has been shown that the Poynting vector is first of all governed by the electric field in the cap and by the solar wind velocity.
