摘要
In this paper, the emphasis is focussed on the availability of ultrasonic corrosion fatigue testing to clarify the corrosion fatigue behavior of structural materials in long term. The ultrasonic corrosion fatigue testing results of 12 Cr stainless steel in various content of NaOH aqueous solution are exemplified to show that corrosion fatigue strength remarkably decrease if an agressive environment like 40% NaOH aqueous solution should occur in a bottom of fatigue crack even in a dilute NaOH aqueous solution. It is also demonstrated by the ultrasonic corrosion fatigue testing results of tar epoxy resin coated steel in an artificial sea water that the one of the major cause of corrosion fatigue failure of tar epoxy resin coated steel is due to the breakage of tar epoxy resin coating.
