Synthesis and photoluminescence of new Eu3+-activated Cs2Ba(MoO4)2 red-emitting phosphors with high color purity for white LEDs

摘要
Novel trivalent europium activated single-phase red-emitting Cs2Ba(MoO4)(2) (named as CBMO) phosphors were first prepared through high-temperature solid-state reaction. Under 396 nm excitation, the CBMO:15 mol%Eu3+ phosphor exhibited a strong red emission at 614 nm due to the typical D-5(0)-> F-7(2) transition. The optimum concentration of Eu3+ ions was 15 mol%, and critical distance (R-c) was 14.78 angstrom. The Commission International del'Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates of the CBMO:0.15Eu(3+) phosphors were (0.651, 0.347), which were located in the red region. The CBMO:0.15Eu(3+) phosphor displayed high color purity of 99.5%. The temperature related photoluminescence spectra and the corresponding CIE color coordinates indicated that the phosphors possessed good thermal stability and stable color property. White light-emitting diodes were fabricated with a good correlated color temperature of 4845 K and high color rendering index of 90. Therefore, the red-emitting CBMO:Eu3+ phosphors exhibited promising applications in solid-state lighting fields.
