LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 cathode materials which containing zinc were synthesized by co-precipitation method. Results of XRD and electrochemical analysis indicate: No second phase has been observed as the amount of zinc in material less than 1%; specific discharge capacities of material containing zinc were less than bare Li(Ni1/3Co1/3Mn1/3)O-2 at lower discharge rate (0.2C and 1C), but rate capability and cycling performance were improved by introducing of zinc into material. Discharge at 5C for 50 cycles, the capacity retention was 92.9% for material containing 1% zinc, which was higher than bare material (84.3%).
