Hip arthroscopy in the adolescent and pediatric athlete

With the recent reports in the literature, the technique of hip arthroscopy is gaining popularity, However, the technique and its application have not been well described in the adolescent and pediatric athletic population. This article describes the technique, indications, and early results of hip arthroscopy in the pediatric and adolescent athlete. Underlying hip pathology such as Legg-Calve-Perthes disease was a common feature in our patients who presented with new, acute hip pain, refractory to non-operative therapy.
