Interaction of the Ribbon Surface with Acetone and Magnetic Characteristics of the Soft Magnetic Co-Based Amorphous Alloy

摘要
The performed studies showed that the treatment of a ribbon of soft magnetic Co-Ni-Fe-Cr-Mn-Si-B amorphous alloy with acetone affects the magnetic characteristics of the ribbon. The effect is different for the states of the ribbon differing in the sign of magnetostriction constant (lambda(s)). In the case of the state with lambda(s) > 0, both the volume of domains with the orthogonal magnetization component and the sharpness of the in-plane magnetic texture increase; at lambda(s) < 0, a decrease in the volume of domains with the orthogonal magnetization, a decrease in the sharpness of the in-plane magnetic texture, and an increase in the maximum magnetic permeability take place. The increase in the time of the treatment magnifies its effect on the volume component of magnetization and decreases the effect on the in-plane magnetization redistribution. This can be related to an increase in the level of compressive stresses induced by catalytic oxidation and hydrogenation of acetone.
