摘要
Based on recently reported experimental data, the thermodynamic details of the Ti-Al-Nb system, relevant for the design of engineering gamma-TiAl based alloys, have been reinvestigated. Thermodynamic functions for the phases of interest (alpha/alpha(2), beta/beta(0) and gamma) are optimized by applying the Parrot module of the software package ThermoCalc. By using the thermodynamic parameters assessed in this work, phase equilibria can be calculated up to a niobium mole fraction of 0.1. The modeling results agree reasonably well with experimental observations as shown by depicting the Ti-45 at.%Al-Nb isopleth.
