Magnetic dichroism in core absorption and photoemission

摘要
Magnetic circular dichroisin in core absorption is measured for Mn2/3Zn1/3Fe2O4 ferrite, La0.84Sr0.16MnO3, Pd3Fe, Pt3Co as well as NiMnSb. The measurements are for the core levels of 2p and 3p states of transition metal atoms, La 4d and 2p, Pd 3p, Pt 4f and Sb 3d core levels. Presence of the magnetic moment is confirmed for the La 4f, La 5d, Pd 4d, Pt 5d, and Sb 5p states. The sign of the [Sz] is unambiguously determined. By using the MCD sum rule, [Lz]/[Sz] is evaluated. Magnetic linear dichroisin in photoemission angular distribution is measured for Ni under the off- and on-resonance excitation conditions. The results are compared with the magnetic circular dichroism in photoemission angular distribution and spin polarized photoemission. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
