Blind spreading factor detectors for DS-CDMA receivers - Part II: Detector performance comparisons

摘要
Spreading factor (SF) in a code-division multiaccess systems depends on the. data rate of the user, and can therefore be unknown a priori for a communication receiver. In this paper, performance or optimal. maximum a posteriori (MAP), decision directed (DD) and autocorrelation based blind SF detectors is studied via Monte Carlo computer simulations. The autocorrelation based SF detector appears to give performance close to the optimal MAP detector with perfect signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) knowledge. Furthermore, it is found to be significantly more robust to SNR estimation errors than the MAP detector.
