摘要
We demonstrate a tunable microwave-photonic notch filter based on two 3dB Hi-Bi couplers, a half-wave plate, and a variable time delay line. The configuration is free from the problems of optically coherent interference and chromatic dispersion. Expressions for the filter transfer function, as well as its application in a 20 km radio-over-fiber (RoF) link, are presented. Measured results match the calculated results and show a notch rejection greater than 35 dB. The scheme can operate over a wide range of optical carrier frequencies.
