摘要
Today enterprises are forced to increase their quality level and in the same time to decrease the costs of their products. Therefore, we are looking for new test methods which can provide satisfying test results with reference to qualify assurance in a simply cost saving manner. Such a test method is the non destructive measuring of surface hardness by means of eddy current. Nowadays the surface hardness of heavy plates can be determined in this way. The set up of the equipment, the software and the calibration of the eddy current apparatus implies the know-how for an applicable non destructive surface hardness measurement. A deviation of +/- 1% between the conventional hardness readings and the non destructive values is within reach.
