FDTD simulation of the soliton propagation in the optical fiber

摘要
This paper presents a procedure based on finite difference time domain (FDTD) method, for efficiant solving the nonlinear Schrodinger equation, which has a stable solution called soliton [1,2]. Tile numerical routines were implemented in the programme for numerically solving a nonlinear Schrodinger equation, written using the computer software MATLAB, which enables observation of solitons, includes losses and third-order dispersion and gives graphical representation of soliton propagation in two and three dimensions.
