Role of aging on the martensitic transformation in a cast cobalt alloy

摘要
In this work, the FCC --> HCP martensitic transformation was investigated during isothermal aging at 850 degreesC in an as-cast Co-base alloy. It was found that the transformation kinetics exhibited a sigmoidal behavior as evidenced by the determinations of epsilon -martensite vs. time, which in turn indicated a thermally activated nucleation process.
