Acoustic, volumetric, transport and spectral studies of binary liquid mixtures of 2-(2-butoxyethoxy) ethanol with amines at different temperatures

In the present communication, measurements of experimental density, speed of sound and viscosity of binary liquid mixtures of 2-(2-butoxyethoxy) ethanol with dipropylamine, diethylamine and triethylamine have been carried out within the temperature range of 298.15 K-308.15 K with temperature interval of 5 K. To study the intermolecular interactions present in these liquid mixtures, parameters like excess molar volume (V-m(E)), excess molar isentropic compressibility (K-S, m(E)), excess speed of sound (u(E)), partial molar volume ((V) over bar (m,i)), deviation in viscosity (Delta eta) and excess Gibbs energy (Delta G*(E)) have been calculated. These parameters substantiate the specific interaction between these solvents in their mixtures. The excess functions and their deviations have also been correlated using Redlich-Kister type polynomial equation by the method of least-squares for the estimation of the binary coefficients and the standard deviations. Further, IR spectra of these mixtures have been also been recorded. The spectral studies also confirm the specific interactions between components molecules of alkoxy alkanol and amines.
