摘要
Public procurement plays a huge part in the Czech economy. Construction procurement contracts alone were worth more than CZK 200 bil. in 2012. This paper presents summary statistics of the Czech public procurement construction market between years 2006 and 2013 and development of the quarterly time series of selected indicators based on the data provided by the Information System of the public procurement. Dramatic legislation changes undergone in 2012 are mirrored in the data for last year of this analysis. Impact of the economic crisis is shown on the significant change of the distribution of contracts according to their final/expected price ratio between pre-crisis and post-crisis periods. Some of the positive trends are identified, like increasing number of bids or usage of more transparent tendering methods, but also some things are obvious, that may point to the fact, that in some cases the public procurement is used only to satisfy the law requirements, but the main reason of being economically rational is missing, like 14% of contracts having exactly the same final price as the expected price in the last quarter of 2013.
