摘要
Globalization, climate and demographic changes, the focus on enhancing the public value, the economic and financial context impose the governments to solve complex social and economic issues, as well as to apply adequate and relevant policies and strategies. Sustainable economic progress needs creativity, innovation of all stakeholders and a genuine collaborative approach. Innovation represents an essential successful factor for public sector modernization and smart public administrations represent a key asset to boost European Union innovation potential. Innovation in the public sector constitutes a dynamic process in light to identify problems, challenges, to implement new and creative ideas, to select and implement new solutions. The current paper analyses the statistical connection between good governance and innovation performance in the EU Member States. The idea of the paper is to correlate the governance indicators with the innovation performance indicators. In this context, the paper presents the analysis of correlation and the analysis of regression between governance dimensions and innovation performance at the EU country level, aiming to highlight the impact of governance on stimulating innovation. The research methodology comprises bibliographic syntheses, socio-innovative empirical researches, statistical analysis.
