摘要
(Chemical Equation Presented) Where have all the electrons gone? The complex [Pt3Re2(CO)6(PtBu3) 3] (1) containing a trigonal bipyramidal metal cluster is unsaturated by the amount of 10 valence electrons. Compound 1 reacts with hydrogen by adding three equivalents to form the hexahydrido complex 2. The metal cluster in 2 is similar to that of 1, but contains one bridging hydrido ligand on each of the Re-Pt bonds. Pt blue, Re green. © 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
