摘要
The identification of effective factors in the historical formation of architecture can help develop architecture and its various aspects (Mofidi, 2005). These factors may be classified in the groups of cultural, historical and climatic. Specifically, the application of the native and traditional basis of past architecture can be highly significant for the improvement of contemporary architecture (Fathy, 1986). Zavareh is one of the most important and ancient cities of Iran which has partially retained its vernacular architectural structural texture. Historical factors such as social change and evolution, urban changes and climatic-morphological changes have all influenced its architecture (yang and Grout, 2004). Wind is an important climatic factor for the ventilation of buildings, the provision of cooling and even the ventilation of the entire city. Therefore wind has played an important role in the city's architecture. This paper considers the role of wind and its influence on residential architecture. Climatic changes are concluded to be a predominant factor in the creation of new styles within recent periods. By reviewing the evolution of buildings the recommendations for modern architecture are presented.
