摘要
The article is devoted to the problem of displaying the hate speech in contemporary Ukrainian media. In particular, the monitoring results of the Odessa mass media conducted during the period of 2016-2018 are presented, which show the main tendencies of the hate speech. It was established that the main objects of hate in the Odessa mass media are Ukrainian-Russian relations, representatives of ethnic and national groups, residents of separate regions and separate social groups. Representatives of ethnic and national groups became the, most powerful" object in terms of intensifying hostility during the analyzed period. According to our data, in relation to these groups, journalists arc expected to use incorrect characteristics, negative context, unjustified human belonging to a certain ethnic group. The used cited materials (without journalistic commentary) contain not only negative words and sayings, but also open threats, appeals for destruction, which lead to incitement to interethnic hostility and hatred. Some materials trace the emotional context of the context by using incorrect names and negative evaluations.
