Business Ecosystem Governance and Openness in the New Digital Age: An Exploratory Model

The article places focus on open governance of business ecosystem in the context of internet economy. We describe open governance of business ecosystem as a collective and strategic process by which critical participants strategically interact with other participants to increase efficiencies at business ecosystem and organizational levels. We propose a theoretical model emphasizing the value creation nature of business ecosystem and three dimensions for strategizing open governance, and utilize it to draw distinct research themes and directions for future studies.
