摘要
Homo- and heteroparticle clusters formed by Janus gold nanoparticles (J-AuNPs) with bicompartment polymer brushes composed of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) was reported. J-AuNPs with bicompartment PEO and PMMA brushes were synthesized using the polymer-single-crystal templating method. The polydispersity indices (PDIs) of PEO and PMMA are 1.03 and 1.25, respectively. Gel permeation chromatography (GPC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and 1H NMR spectroscopy analysis showed that the overall grafting density of PEO and PMMA brushes was 0.52 chains/nm2. TEM experiments were conducted to confirm particle assembly in dioxane. The size of the cluster continuously increased and the ensemble became anisotropic, wormlike aggregates. Control experiment using symmetric AuNPs coated with PMMA and PEO mixed brushes confirmed that the assembly is because of the Janus feature of PEO114-Au6-PMMA208.
