摘要
In 92 healthy nulliparous women with uncomplicated pregnancies, the function of the pelvic floor muscles (PFMs) was assessed by surface electromyography (EMG) with the use of vaginal probes. The impact of a single biofeedback session on EMG parameters was examined. As was found, such sessions provided significant increases in the EMG amplitude in 60- and 10-sec-long contractions (P = 0.01 and P = 0.00, respectively). With respect to quick flicks of the PFMs, a tendency for increase was also observed, but the difference did not reach the significance level. There was no effect of biofeedback sessions on the EMG level in relaxation.
