摘要
With the high standard reached by the prosperous wind engineering technology in the last years not only increasingly large projects or more challenging projects like offshore WECS (Wind Energy Converter Systems) are in the focus of new developments but also applications other than producing electrical energy are getting more credible and feasible. The idea to merge wind energy and desalination is not new, but the nowadays high technical standard allows more manipulation, manoeuvring and management of the operation of a modem WEC, opening new possibilities to adapt even Megawatt WECS closer to the needs of the desalination technology shown by the authors.
