摘要：
Within the past year, there has been an enormous surge in the popularity of mobile telephones, digital set-top boxes, automotive navigation and entertainment systems, and personal palm-type organisers. The traditional PC has diminished in importance. With a large number of different processors, different embedded operating systems, and a multitude of manufacturers - developing an application for any small smart-device appears to be daunting. This feature looks at the problems and offers solutions to smart device designers.
