摘要
The impact of turning angle in fibre tractography reconstruction was evaluated. A single subject diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) data were obtained retrospectively. Fibre tractography was performed using commercial software, NordicICE version 2.3.9 (Nordic Neuro Lab, Norway) available at AMDI. During fibre tracking, tract turning angle was varied for 25 degrees, 35 degrees, 45 degrees (default turning angle set by software developer), 55 degrees and 65 degrees. Two major fibre bundles were selected for fibre tractography reconstruction. Then, the assessment was performed on number of fibres reconstructed as well as the MD and FA values of the fibre bundles. The values obtained for each angle were compared with that of obtained using default angle. From the two fibre bundles observed, only results from CST are found showing a conclusive trend of changes. From the CST fibre bundles, it is shown that increasing the tract turning angle increases the number of fibres and MD and decreases the FA values. However, in terms of significance of the changes, both fibre bundles demonstrated that selection of the tract turning angle does not give any significant impact on the fibre tractography reconstruction and DTI indices.
