Numerical study on sandpile formation of granular materials with different grain size distributions

摘要
The dynamic sandpile formation process and the angle of repose of granular particles with different grain size distribution are studied by numerically simulation. The modified Discrete Element Method (DEM) has been employed in current simulation. Four kinds of pad materials were placed on ground to vary the friction coefficient between particle and ground and the effects were analyzed in detail in simulation. The simulated results show that the angle of repose increases with grain size and friction coefficient between particle-to-ground. https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-540-79846-0_26
