Study of the Antioxidant Properties of Oils by the Voltammetric Method

摘要
A study of natural antioxidants in twelve oils of various compositions and in the resin-asphaltene components isolated therefrom was carried out by the voltammetric method using the model reaction of oxygen electroreduction, and the values of the criterion of antioxidant activity K were calculated. It was shown that, with an increase in the concentration of the oil sample in the solvent, the criterion K can either increase or decrease. Similar patterns of changes in the antioxidant properties of the isolated asphaltenes with an increase in their content in the solvent are consistent with the behavior of the studied oil. The established relationship between the radius of the asphaltene aggregates and the change in the kinetic parameters is indicative of the structural transformations associated with the changes in the size and activity of the complex structural units of the oil disperse system as a whole.
