Microwave absorption in Wigner crystals at high magnetic fields

摘要
A two-dimensional electron gas is formed in between layers of GaAs/AlGaAs. The microwaves of frequency of about similar to 120 MHz are absorbed at a magnetic field of 33 Tesla. From this absorption, we deduce the phase diagram of a Wigner crystal. Several different phases are found. Since the phases occur at well defined tilling factors, we are able to fix the spin orientation in various phases. At high magnetic fields, the electrons become free and there is no interaction other than the dot product of magnetic moment and the magnetic field.
