摘要：

On one hand the electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is finial of investigations conducted within the centuries on applying of electrical stimulation in the therapy of psychical disorders, and on the other hand - it is the only one from the former therapeutic methods which survived to today's' times. ECT is highly efficacious and greatly safe form of the physical therapy usually reserved to treatment of difficult and (pharmaco) therapy resistant morbid conditions. The history of the ECT links i.e. the evolution of the treatment patterns and the elaborating of the safe stimulation parameters. (The electroconvulsive therapy - the history and the present-day).
