摘要
Mode locking of a Nd:YAG triangle slab laser, side pumped by 600 W pulsed laser diode, using semiconductor saturable absorbers with 100 quantum wells in transmission configuration, is reported. Trains containing 6 pulses with total energy of 2 mJ and single pulse duration of 87 ps (or 0.65 mJ and duration of 65 ps) were generated. Extended trains containing 20 pulses were obtained by passive negative feedback due to beam defocusing in GaAs substrate with pulse shortening along the train.
