Compact Three-Band MIMO Antenna with Simple Decoupling Structure for 5G Mobile Terminal

摘要
A compact three-band multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna is developed. The proposed antenna is basically composed of two folded monopoles and the compact size is realized by using a L-shape slot etched in the ground plane, which increases the electrical length of the radiation part. The antenna covers 3.5 GHz and 4.8 GHz bands, satisfying the demand of middle band of future 5G communication. Besides, the proposed antenna can also provide a 2.7 GHz WIMAX band. A simple protruded ground plane is introduced to reduce the coupling effects, and the isolation between elements of this proposed MIMO antenna is larger than 15 dB, meanwhile, the clearance ground area is also reduced. By this antenna, pattern diversity is achieved.
