Hydrogenation and H-D exchange reactions of ethylene on fcc ultra-thin Fe films grown on a Rh(001) surface

摘要
Hydrogenation and H-D exchange reactions of ethylene on 1 ML (monolayer) Fe thin film with preadsorbed atomic hydrogen proceed through the formation of ethyl species and the products of ethylene and ethane show the incorporation of preadsorbed H or D atoms. beta-H elimination step of ethyl species exhibits a kinetic isotope effect; C-H cleavage is faster than C-D cleavage. The obtained bonding energy of ethyl species on 1 ML Fe film with adsorbed atomic hydrogen is (132 +/- 19) kJ/mol.
