Electrocatalytic oxidation of 2-mercaptoethanol by electropolymerized cobalt porphyrin film on vitreous carbon electrodes

摘要
We have investigated in this study and for the first time the ability of electropolymerized cobalt porphyrin film on vitreous carbon electrode to catalyze the electrooxidation of 2-mercaptoethanol, by lowering its oxidation potential by ca. 0.7 V. These results extend the use of such electrocatalytically active film to the field of the activation of thiols and offer a new interesting alternative to do so.
