A novel prognostic model to predict the recovery of ischemic stroke patients

Evaluating the prognosisof ischemic strokecan provide useful information for clinical treatment. A novel prognostic model to predict the recovery of ischemic stroke was constructed in this study. We built a prognosticmodel mainly based on these items including the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)symptoms & signs and their changes during the first 3 daysof ischemic stroke patientsin three TCM hospitals. Selecting the optimal cut-offvalue for evaluating the prognosiswith the Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC) curve analysis. The result of validation on the data of west medicinehospital showed that the model had a goodsensitivity and specificityfor judging the prognosis of ischemic stroke.
