摘要
Radiographic diagnosis is an important tool when examining tooth and jaw disorders in lagomorphs and rodents, because in a clinical exam, even with the most sophisticated intraoral diagnosis, the vast majority of extraoral deformations in teeth and/or jaw bone cannot be fully identified. These findings, however, determine not only the choice of a promising treatment but also long-term prognosis. X-rays can also be helpful when explaining therapeutic and/or prophylactic measures to the patient's owner. The first part of this article describes the overall anatomy and pathology of the head area of lagomorphs and rodents, and shows various indications for x-ray diagnosis of malocclusion.
