摘要
This paper seeks to describe production automated collection and further networked dissemination of Slovenian agricultural documents ar;pursued by the newly established Slovenian National AGRIS Centre (SNAG). The bibliographic data are locally selected with the help of Slovenian agriculture-related information centres and are then analysed by an agricultural information specialist in order to be assigned international subject codes and controlled English-language descriptors as required by the international information system AGRIS coordinated by FAO in Pome The electronically synthesised data are then dispatched as an E-mail attachment to the central AGRIS Processing Unit (APU) in Vienna for further processing such as automated assignment of French- and Spanish-language descriptors and broader subject terms. Processing quality control is enhanced by networked communication between the APU and SNAG. Final data are available as an online or CD-ROM version of the international agricultural AGRIS database with 2,500,000 references. We further present how international accessibility of Slovenian data is prompted by cooperation of the SNAG with foreign partner libraries or information centres such as US National Agricultural Library, in order to make our data electronically accessible. Database references along with on-site availability of Slovenian agriculture-related documents via online public access catalogues in marry libraries in the world enhance potentialities of international visibility of Slovenian national agricultural research.
