A modification of the Dott's mouth gag is presented. This involves fixation of two parallel bars over the lingual surface of the tongue blades. The modified mouth gag has been used in more than 300 patients over a period of 5 years. This simple modification successfully prevents compression of the endotracheal tube during cleft palate repair.
