摘要
The aim of this research is to study effect of inclined angle of pin arrangement on flow and heat transfer characteristics in a rectangular flow channel with array of pins. In this study, the cylindrical of pins which having diameter of D=10 mm was mounted in the flow channel with staggered arrangement. The pin-to-pin distance was fixed at S-y=2D in spanwise direction and at S-x=2.5 in streamwise direction. The effect of pin inclined angle was investigated at 0 = 60 degrees, 90 degrees, 120 degrees, and 135 degrees for constant Reynolds number at Re=32,860. The flow and heat transfer were investigated using ANSYS ver.15.0 (Fluent) to simulate 3-D steady turbulence flow. The realizable k-epsilon turbulence model was applied in this study. The results show that the pin inclined angle with theta = 120 degrees and 135 degrees can enhance the heat transfer on the upstream and downstream of the pins when compared to the case of pin angle theta = 90 degrees. While, the pin inclined angle with theta = 60 degrees gives the lowest heat transfer rate overall surface. The mechanism of heat transfer enhancement for inclined pin can be explained with increasing velocity and reduced wake flow region behind the pin.
