摘要
It was evaluated the cotton seed-to-plant transmission of Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. malvacearum (XAM), in the field conditions of cerrado of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, and in two crop seasons (2009/10 e 2010/11). In laboratory conditions it was done the validation of the method of seed inoculation by immersion in a bacterial suspension with 10(8) ucf.mL(-1) for three hours and after that this method was used. It was obtained lots with 1, 2, 5, 10 e 20 % of infected seed and the seed were sowed and the plants cultivated. After 15, 30 e 45 days of the sow, was evaluated the incidence of plants with symptoms of angular leaf spot. There were not diseased plants, indicating the lack of the transmission of XAM in emerged cotton plants in the region where this work was developed.
