摘要：

In this note we will discuss existence, uniqueness tin a given homotopy class), and regularity for harmonic maps from surfaces. We will introduce some analysis developed through the study of harmonic maps from surface. In particular, we will discuss the energy concentration phenomenon studied by Sacks and Uhlenbeck in their celebrated paper [SU].(36) We will also present some recent results in the study of the heat flow for harmonic maps from surfaces.
