摘要：
Tetragonopterus lemniscatus, a new species of characid characiform, is described from the Corantijn River basin in western Suriname. The species is readily distinguished from its congeners (T argenteus, T chalceus) by the presence of dark, longitudinal stripes positioned between adjacent scale rows of the lateral surface of the body.
