摘要
In his detective novels Six Hommes morts (1931) and L'Assassin habite au 21 (1939), S.-A. Steeman sheds light on the evolution of the detective figure in Detective Story. Cognition, ethos and pragma combine cleverly in his novels, creating new detective models. In this paper, we will analyze the modus operandi and, especially, cogitandi of three detective models, created by Steeman, who marked a milestone in the Whodunit history. Our practical application (on the linguistic level) within the discourse of detective fiction in Steeman is based on an updated reading of the Aristotelian approach to inference, and on a pragmatico-linguistic conception of the enthymeme.
