Design and implementation of an airborne real-time video image compression system

摘要
in this paper, the design and implementation of an Airborne Real-time Video Image MPEG-4 Compression System are based on the newest media processor TMS320DM642 and the hardware structure and the working flow also are introduced in detail. The MPEG-4 algorithm has been optimized by using the software optimization technique based on C64X CPU, and the system implements the real-time compression and transmission of the D1(704x576) or CIF(352x288) images at the rate of 25 frames per second, moreover, the compression rate is alterable according to the command.
