Noting that from his early years A. M. Remizov was a notorious prankster with the ability of creating the illusion of a dream-come-true, the author of the article details one of the last literary hoaxes of the writer. His invention, the persona of Solonchuk, an immigrant living in exotic India, resonated with the dreams of the post-war Russian émigrés to establish their own publishing house and thus to publish their works. © 2019, Russian Academy of Sciences.
