Measurement of atomic momenta in quantum fluids by high-energy neutron scattering

This paper gives a brief outline of the theory and practice of kinetic energy measurements made on the electronvolt spectrometer at the ISIS spallation neutron source. The usefulness of the technique is illustrated by measurements made on He-4 as a function of temperature and density, an He-3-He-4 mixtures as a function of concentration and on liquid neon. Future developments and applications are discussed.
