摘要：
The paper deals with potential scenarios of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) proliferation in the Middle East. In particular, three potential scenarios are characterized that are applied to the current regional international relations situation. The paper comes to the conclusion that in the short-term perspective the most likely scenario is the maintenance of the current status quo in the WMD ownership. In order to ensure the regional security and stability, the formation of a regional hegemony would be desirable.
