160 Gbit/s DPSK transmission over 320 km fibre link with high long-term stability

摘要
Long-term B ER measurements (10 11) of a single-channel 160 Gbit/s transmission over 4 x 80 kin high-dispersion fibre are reported, using a single polarisation signal, RZ-DPSK coding and EDFA amplification solely. Pulse source, demultiplexing optical gate, clock recovery and the balanced detector are based on semiconductor components. Completely error-free transmission was observed for more than 5 h without using FEC.
